VBeam® Pulsed Dye Laser Treatment

The VBeam® is a pulsed dye laser used to effectively treat vascular formations, port-wine stains, broken capillaries and dilated blood vessels, as with rosacea. Often referred to as a vascular laser, the VBeam delivers pulsed light beams through the use of a dye, which allows the laser to generate different beam wavelengths, each with a different color. The VBeam laser targets hemoglobin within blood vessels, bypassing the skin without damage.

Patients report that the short, pulsed dye laser feels like hot and cold snaps on the skin, similar to a rubber band snapping. Cold air is directed at the treatment area to reduce any discomfort. No anesthesia is required. Dr. Ben Talei and his staff at the Beverly Hills Center for Plastic & Laser Surgery can use VBeam laser treatments for a number of vascular malformations. The treated area may appear red or swollen for a few hours after treatment.

Gentle Laser Treatment for Vascular Malformations

Dilated or broken blood vessels can cause a reddish, splotchy appearance. Many people are troubled by this condition and desire treatment to reduce or eliminate it. The VBeam laser is effective at breaking up hemoglobin in the affected areas, causing it to be absorbed and eliminated by your body’s lymphatic system. Patients have also received satisfactory results from VBeam treatment for rosacea, birthmarks like port-wine stains, angiomas and even warts, scars and sun damage.

As with any procedure from the Beverly Hills Center for Plastic & Laser Surgery, Dr. Talei and his staff will first consult with you privately about your medical condition and skincare goals, as well as perform a physical skin evaluation. They may choose to recommend a series of VBeam laser treatments in combination with other therapies to help you reach your appearance goals. Call or schedule your appointment online to discuss VBeam laser treatments or other cosmetic therapies that are available.
